The bottles, with profiled necks, are accommodated in supports on an endless conveyor. The supports (1) are expanded by insertion of the bottles (3), springing back to engage below the profiled portion (6) of the necks (4). The holder portions (11) are again expanded by wedge-shaped components (12) so as to release them.The holders can be formed by pairs of opposite inclined spring sheet-metal components, passing through holes in the support sidewalls (8), and bent over and fixed to them at the rear.
