The lowest step (11) has a horizontal swivel axis (3) which is inclined to the transverse direction of the vehicle. The step axis may also be in a forward and raised position. An acute angle ( alpha ) is formed between the swivel axis and the cross direction of the vehicle. On moving the step upwards the step is also swivelled inwards in the direction of the vehicle body. The step is attached to bracket (4) which pivots backwards and underneath. USE/ADVANTAGE - For an off-the-road vehicle. Gives a good ground clearance, is simple to make, and reliable in operation.
