Passengers entering the taxi (1) are photographed by a miniature camera (2) linked to a computer (3) which converts the pictures into digital data for compression (4) and transmission by radio (5), pref. to the control centre (9). The receiver (10) is connected to another computer (11) which prepares the data for decompression (13) and storage (14). When the journey is completed and the fare paid, the stored data are automatically erased. Otherwise a picture of the assailant(s) is reproduced on a monitor (15) or printer (16). ADVANTAGE - Intending attackers may be deterred by multi-lingual warning in taxi that their photographs have been taken before start of journey.
