A power steering unit for unit in a road vehicle system has a pair of spindles that are coupled together in such a way that relative rotational movement results in a limited axial displacement of a control element. The two rotational parts are coupled together with a bearing for support. This has ball bearings (93) located between an outer and an inner race (91,92). The balls are retained by cages (96). The ball tracks (94) are set at an angle axially such that rotation causes one part to move axially relative to the other. USE/ADVANTAGE - Simple and easy to assemble. Used in power steering applications.
