A single lock (13) secures it both in the raised and lowered positions, and is secured to the cushion frame (1). If the seat portion (4) is not properly locked in either position, it is moved by spring action into an intermediate one, where it is locked by the extension of a spring-mounted support with gas spring (10). The gas spring forms, together with one or more front links (7), part of the linkage for the seat section (4). When the latter is not locked in the working position, a spring (26) acts on the link in the retracting direction. ADVANTAGE - Provides for simplicity and maximum safety.
