The connector comprises a screw body (1) with conical inner face, a tension nut (2) and a profiled ring (4). The ring has a friction-reducing and/or anti-corrosion coating of elastomer or soft metal. The ring has a projection (4.7) at the front and a profiled tapering restriction (4.2) at the back. The end face (4.5) of the ring running outwards from the front cutting edge (4.4) can be shaped so that the pipe wall material of the pipe is pressed towards the screw body. After deformation by the front part of the ring the pipe wall material can be used as sealing material. The transition between the end face and the adjoining conical outer area of the ring can be rounded. USE/ADVANTAGE - Connection system for vacuum or high-pressure pipes. Long term reliable connection is protected against vibrations and pipe loads and gives improved sealing action.
