Removing fibres from pulp.

Coarse fibres are removed from a lignocellulosic pulp by spraying a slurry of the pulp against a rotating disk filter. A first fraction of the pulp passes through the filter and constitutes an accepts fraction. A second fraction is retained on the filter, contains an enriched concentration of coarse fibres from the pulp and constitutes a rejects fraction. The accepts and rejects fractions are removed from the filter. <IMAGE>
