The mixture of kaolin with aluminium oxide or hydroxide is first finely ground so that it contains more than 80 % by weight particles under 10 μm, more than 50 % by weight particles under 5 μm and more than 25 % by weight of particles under 1 μm and is perfectly homogenised used two-stage homogenisation, whereas the first stage is represented by a rotary homogeniser and the second stage a vibration mill, which serves as an effective unit of the final high degree level of homogenisation. The mixture is formed and burnt in a reduction environment, formed by addition of a carbide of silica to the basic mixture.
