The basis of the flow-through separator is the compensation of pressure differences between a liquid tank (1) and the large underpressure in the vacuum pump (8), to prevent drawing in of the transflowing liquid. To this aim the compensating section (3), beyond the regulated swelling of liquid into the inner space of the separator, is uniformly widened and separated by rows of fire bar surfaces (4). The fire bar surfaces are connected at the top in the suction space (7) of the pump by the jaws of the guide sections (6) for catching the released fluid drops. In the fluid of the separator there is a flow regulator (12) which, by means of a drawbar (10), controls the flow through the suction neck of the pump (11), located at the end of the separator in at its lowest point.<IMAGE>
