<p>In an aeration mat (1), although the backrest (4) serving to support the back of a person lying in a bath tub (11) is assigned to a whirlpool device (10) for the back, it is not directly connected to the air supply via aeration ducts but can merely be washed underneath by air which emerges through directional ports in the ends facing it of the aeration ducts (15), which is provided for the lower part of the body, provided with outlet ports over their length, of the base support part (3). Within the backrest (4), the air is uniformly distributed by a guide device (22) and allowed to emerge to the backrest surface. As a result, all ports serving for the emergence of air are exposed to approximately the same hydrostatic pressure. In addition, for the control of the whirlpool, an actuating pedal (32) is provided at the foot end (6) of the mat (1), so that the recumbent person can undertake all requisite adjustments by foot pressure, and hence without any other change of position. <IMAGE></p> |
