摘要 845,281. Negative impedance amplifiers. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Oct. 11, 1956 [Oct. 14, 1955], No. 31002/56. Class 40 (4). [Also in Group XL (c)] A line amplifier comprises impedance converters including a NPN and a PNP transistors 1, 2 with their base and collector electrodes cross-connected, with the emitter electrodes connected through corresponding pairs of terminals 1, 1<SP>1</SP>, 2, 2<SP>1</SP> to the positive and negative terminals 1, 1<SP>1</SP>, 2, 2<SP>1</SP> to the positive and negative terminals of a D.C. supply and with the bases connected through pairs of terminals 3, 3<SP>1</SP>, 4, 4<SP>1</SP> to the D.C. supply, the arrangement being such that when passive impedances are connected between three of the pairs of terminals a converted impedance appears across the fourth pair which is independent of the transistor characteristics. This is achieved by ensuring that the emitter-base impedances are very much lower than the corresponding impedance between terminals 1, 1<SP>1</SP> and 2, 2<SP>1</SP> and by making the ratios Z2 and Z4 much smaller than the base to collector current gain of transistor 1 and much larger than the reciprocal of the base to collector current gain of transistor 2. As shown in Fig. 1, the passive impedances are connected to the terminals 2, 3 or 4 and an Z3, Z4 apparent impedance Z 1 equal to appears Z2 across terminals 1. Similar relations apply when the three passive impedances are connected to the other terminals. The battery V may have zero voltage so that no D.C. potential is applied to the input circuit. When the impedances are resistive an open-circuit stable negative resistance may be presented at terminals 1 and 2 and closed circuit stable resistances may be presented at terminals 3 and 4. By using one resistor and two reactors the impedances proportional to the square of the frequency or the reciprocal of the square of the frequency may be obtained and by using three reactances impedances proportional to the cube or inversely proportional to cube or frequency may be obtained. In addition, series or parallel tuned circuits may be used. A line amplifier (Fig. 4) comprises an open circuit stable negative impedance I, II and a closed circuit stable negative impedance I<SP>1</SP>, II<SP>1</SP> connected in a line 6, 7 in T formation. The D.C. supplies to the transistors are obtained from the line 6, 7 through chokes 16 and 15, capacitors 17, 18 serving for by-pass purposes.
