A gear shift device for a synchronised motor-vehicle gearbox with six forward gears and one reverse gear comprises a shift shaft, mounted in longitudinally displaceable and rotatable fashion, the shift fingers of which can be introduced into the mutually aligned grooves of shift lugs for the preselection of the gears. The shift lugs are articulated on swinging forks which are pivotably mounted in the gear case and engage positively with their forks in the sliding sleeves of synchronising clutches. The shift fork of the reverse gear is secured on a shift rod which is perpendicular to the shift shaft and on which is formed a guide rail for the longitudinal guidance of the shift lugs. ……
