The invention relates to an arrangement (1) for releasably clampling an object, such as an object to be worked, comprising a main part (3) which includes at least one groove (3a, 3c) which is able to enclose a screw (4), and a clamping jaw (5) which coacts with the thread (4a) of the screw, wherein the groove (3a) in said main part (3) has an end-part (3a', 3c'), wherein rotation of the screw (4) causes the jaw (5) to move towards or away from said end-part (3a', 3c'), and wherein that end (4') of the screw (4) which is located adjacent said end-part (3a', 3c') includes as a first part (7, 11) of a locking device (7, 8) which comprises at least two parts and which functions to prevent movement of the screw (4) along the groove (3a). The second part (8) of the locking device is constructed so that it can be caused to coact with the first part (7, 11) of the locking device, and vice versa, in response to movement in a direction (P) at right angles to the centre line (4c) of the screw (4). |
