Hydrocarbyl polyamine preparation

Long chain hydrocarbyl polyamines are prepared by reacting a long chain hydrocarbyl alcohol with a diisocyanate to form a hydrocarbyl isocyanate followed by reaction of the latter with a polyamine which may optionally carry hydroxy, alkoxy or polyoxyalkylene substituent groups. The resultant hydrocarbyl polyamines can be used as additives for lubricating oil and fuel formulations.
