<p>There is disclosed a ram type blowout preventer (20) wherein the outer ends of guideways (23) radiating from the bore (22) of the body (21) to receive the rams (24) are closed by bonnets (25) bolted to the body (21) and sealed with respect to the body (21) by a seal assembly received in a recess in the inner face (35) of the bonnet (25) for sealing between the inner face (35) of the bonnet (25) and the outer face (21a) of the body (21) about the outer end of the guideway (23) to contain internal pressure in the preventer (20). <IMAGE></p> |
