PURPOSE:To provide a thermal recording material imparting high developed color density, excellent in heat resistance or humidity resistance and capable of freely controlling the characteristics of recording sensitivity. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal recording material wherein two or more recording layers each containing a basic dye and a coupler are provided on a support, the average particle size of at least one of the basic dye and coupler contained in each of recording layers is different from that of either one of the basic dye and coupler contained in the other layer. In a thermal recording material wherein a single recording layer containing a basic dye and a coupler is provided on a support, at least one of the basic dye and the coupler has two or more peak values of particle size distribution. |
