PRODUCTION OF FRICTION MATERIAL

摘要

PURPOSE:To provide a production process of a friction material whereby the problem of working environments conventionally arising from dusting and organic solvents during the production of the friction material can be solved, and the disadvantage of a wet process, i.e., the break of granules during granulation or drying can be prevented without impairing its advantage. CONSTITUTION:The production process comprises dry-mixing a stock mainly consisting of a thermosetting resin binder, a fibrous base and a friction modifier while adding to the mixture a binding and agglomerating agent comprising a water/alcohol mixed solvent to make the entire mixture moist and viscous, granulating the resulting mixture and molding the granules under applied heat and pressure after drying.
