PURPOSE:To make sure the direction of an ultrasonic vibrator through an end cap by covering the ultrasonic vibrator provided at an end portion of an ultrasonic probe with the end cap. CONSTITUTION:An end portion main body 11 having an ultrasonic vibrator 10 mounted thereto is provided within an end cap 16, and when the direction of the ultrasonic vibrator 10 is adjusted by rotating a flexible shaft 12 on its axis which is connected to the end portion main body 11, the end cap 16 is not rotated; therefore, in order to make sure the direction of the ultrasonic vibrator 10 through the observation window W of an endoscope S, the end cap 16 is made transparent to such a degree as to ensure that the end portion main body 11 provided therein is visible. A marker 17 serving as an index for showing the position of the ultrasonic vibrator 10 is displayed in the position of the end portion main body 11 opposite to a mounting portion 11a on which the ultrasonic vibrator 10 is mounted, and the direction of the ultrasonic vibrator 10 can then be made sure by the marker 17 being visible through the end cap 16. |
