PURPOSE:To make light and smooth the operation of a transmission for a heavy truck or the like via the rheology and traction of the lubricating film of an elastic fluid. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of rolling elements 3 are arranged on the conical raceway surface of inner and outer races 1 and 2 in a skewed condition, Before the rolling elements 3 and the conical raceway surface come in contact with each other, relative motion between a shift hub and a gear is employed to cause the conical raceway surface to come in contact with a pair of skew control members 4 and 5 for the posture control of the rolling elements 3. The members 4 and 5 are thereby made to turn, following a raceway and a phase difference is generated between the members 4 and 5. Furthermore, skew to generate traction is thereby applied to the rolling elements 3, and stoppers 20 and 21 are laid between the members 4 and 5 for restricting a skew amount. Also, the rolling elements 3 are laid on the slide surface of the members 4 and 5 in rolling contact state at area other than the area of a frictional section to generate the skew, thereby ensuring the synchronous function of high reliability and sensitivity. In addition, the inner and outer races 1 and 2 are fitted with stoppers 16 and 17, and when torque above the predetermined value is inputted, both stoppers 16 and 17 collide with each other to generate a slip in the rolling elements 3, and the occurrence of excessive bearing pressure thereon is prevented. |
