PURPOSE:To record a color image under suppressing fluctuation in density by delivering inks of three prime colors through corresponding delivery part group while spacing apart the seam of each color stripe substantially equally from the seam of two other color stripes. CONSTITUTION:A magenta head 3 is arranged while being shifted by 16 nozzle pitches in the direction of nozzle array from a cyan head 5. An yellow head 1 is arranged while being shifted by 16 nozzle pitches in the direction of nozzle array from the magenta head 3. A carriage 7 mounting respective heads scans on a recording paper to form stripes of respective colors thereon. Seam of each stripe, i.e., a part being recorded through a nozzle at an end part of nozzle group for each color, is equally spaced apart from the seam of two other colors thus distributing fluctuation of density uniformly over the recording paper and making the fluctuation unobtrusive. When the seams of respective colors are distributed at substantially equal interval, overall image quality can be kept high. |
