PURPOSE:To facilitate conveyance because of lightweight, enable driving in low torque, endure high speed operation, improve productivity, and contribute to reduction of labor by coating the surface of an FRP roller element pipe with a fluorocarbon resin particulate contained complex metal layer. CONSTITUTION:A proper backing layer is arranged on the surface of an FRP (fiber reinforced resin) roller element pipe, and next, fluorocarbon resin particulate contained electroless complex plating is applied. When the electroless complex plating is applied, roller accuracy such as circularity or straightness of the FRP roller element pipe (after the backing layer is applied) is finished beforehand by grinding or polishing or the like, and afterwards, the fluorocarbon resin particulate contained electroless complex plating is applied. Since a coat of the electroless plating is adhered uniformly to the surface without causing nonuniformity of a place, it has an advantage that a process such as machining by a lathe after the metal plating can be omitted or a process such as grinding can be omitted when occasion demands. Desired surface roughness can be obtained by carrying out surface polishing finish simply according to its necessity. |
