LAMINATED NONWOVEN FABRIC AND ITS PRODUCTION

PURPOSE:To provide a laminated nonwoven fabric having low apparent density and soft feeling and provide a process for producing the nonwoven fabric. CONSTITUTION:This laminated nonwoven fabric is produced by laminating and bonding a short-fiber nonwoven fabric layer 1 and a long-fiber nonwoven fabric layer 2. The layer 1 is composed of accumulated short fibers having a fineness of 1-5 de and has an areal density of 5-50g/m<2> and the layer 2 is composed of accumulated long fibers having a fineness of 1-5 de and has an areal density of 5-50g/m<2>. The layer 2 is provided with welded regions 3 arranged with spaces. The region 3 is formed by the welding of long fibers with each other. The thickness of the region 3 is thinner than the other parts. The area other than the region 3 is a non-welded area 4 containing the long fibers free from welding with each other. The long fibers existing in the non-welding area 4 are freely movable and, accordingly, interlocked with the short fibers existing in the layer 1 and the layer 1 is bonded to the layer 2 by the interlocking of the fibers.
