PURPOSE: To provide a disc rotor equipped with superior thermal conductivity and abrasion resistance. CONSTITUTION: A disc rotor is composed of a flange, having a center hole and a rotor part extending from the flange outward in the radial direction. The disc rotor is made of an aluminum base alloy as a base material, in which 15 vol.% AlN particles (mean particle size of 7μm) having a high specific heat by volume, thermal conductivity, and hardness are dispersed. The composition of the base material is set to 10 wt.% silicon, 3 wt.% copper, 1.0 wt.% magnesium, 1.0 wt.% nickel, and aluminum as the residue. The disc rotor is formed by a casting process, in which aluminum base molten metal containing AlN particles is poured into a sand mould.
