A U-shaped stud guide channel comprises pairs of locking members spaced apart along the channel at predetermined studding locations, for locking studs therebetween and preventing lengthwise travel of studs in the channel. At least one of the locking members of each pair is resilient and includes a sloped surface with respect to an inside surface of the channel such that, when an end portion of one of the studs is slid in the channel across one of the resilient members, this resilient member is pushed outward by the end portion and then springs back into the channel for locking the end portion after its passage.
