<p>PURPOSE:To flexibly cope with an increase or a change in lamp specification items for a stop lamp or a tail lamp, and to cope with kinds of vehicles having different specifications but incorporating one and the same device with no adjustment. CONSTITUTION:A microcomputer 6 receives a voltage produced from a current detecting resistor 3 connected in series to a stop lamp 4, through a V/F converter 5. The microcomputer 6 stores in memory a current running through a lamp which is normally turned on at first, calculates a wire breakage detection current value corresponding to a current upon wire breakage of a single lamp, from the stored current, and stores the calculated value in memory. Further, if the detected lamp current value is lower than the wire breakage detection current value, a lamp wire breakage warning is issued so as to turn on a warning lamp 9.</p> |
