PURPOSE: To accurately register and mount a relief printing plate without enclosing air bubbles and generating wrinkles even when the relief printing plate in a continuous length is used. CONSTITUTION: A relief printing plate 137 is clamped in a frictionally connected manner at a horizontal and vertical target position by a holding means 102 while it is registered and it is brought into line contact with a jacket face of a plate cylinder 12 at a mark 144 and is pressed against it and then, it is pressed and mounted simultaneously in the up and down directions or at first selectively upward and then, downward, starting at the contact line.
