CURVING MECHANISM FOR FLEXIBLE TUBE

摘要

PURPOSE:To enhance the curving power and responsiveness of a curving mechanism with an actuator which uses a chemomechanical material driven by application of voltage and to prevent generation of gases during drive by application of voltage. CONSTITUTION:A lattice structure 10 is disposed at the curved part of a catheter insertion portion and each of the lattice spaces 13 of the lattice structure 10 is filled with a chemomechanical material 14 and provided with a pair of electrodes 15, 16 for voltage application, and a control portion 18 is provided for controlling application of voltage to the chemomechanical material 14 in each lattice space 13.
