PURPOSE:To ensure the transfer properties of a hot-melt colored ink layer and to prevent the generation of trouble such as powder falling or planar release, in a thermal transfer recording medium wherein a hot-melt release layer and the hot-melt colored ink layer are laminated on a base material, by adding porous particles to the hot-melt release layer. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal transfer recording medium wherein a hot-melt release layer and a hot-melt colored ink layer are laminated on a base material in this order, porous particles are added to the hot-melt release layer. As a result, porous particles whose micropores are filled with air much remain in the release layer and, when the release layer is heated and melted at the time of printing, air in micropores expand to be discharged out of the particles and air bubbles are generated not only in the molten release layer but also in the interface with the base material. The contact area of the release layer and the base material in the heated part is reduced by the air bubbles and releasability is enhanced even when the melt viscosity of the release layer is high. The contact area is also reduced by the addition of particles to contribute to the enhancement of releasability. |
