PURPOSE:To facilitate focusing of a television camera on dark and uncontrasty corneal endothelial cells irrespective of whether or not a contact lens is used. CONSTITUTION:An eyeball 1 is illuminated with slit light from a light source 11, and as a television camera 2 is gradually moved, a bright surface reflected image signal and a dark entothelial cell image signal are moved on an image signal while keeping a distance determined by the cornea and the thickness of a contact lens, and when an endothelial cell image is in focus, the surface reflected image signal comes to a specific position on the image signal. Then, a gate 22 is manually set so as to be open at that position, and when the surface reflected image signal passes through the gate 22, a trigger signal generating circuit 25 is operated to turn on a slit/stroboscopic light source and thereby the image signal picked up by the television camera 2 is stored in a frame memory 28. |
