A safety device for a meat skinning machine includes closely spaced terminals in a danger area of the machine which will cause power to be immediately withdrawn from the machine whenever one of the operators electroconducting gloves comes into contact with it. The closing of the safety circuit causes a brake on the electrical motor driving a gripping roll to brake the motor.
