New procedure for the preparation of antimonic acid derivatives applicable in the treatment of canine leishmaniosis. It comprises: (a) reacting antimony trioxide with hydrogen peroxide to produce antimony pentoxide; (b) hydrolysing said product to obtain antimonic acid; (c) reacting said antimonic acid with meglumine to produce the derivative of formula (I); (d) reacting said antimonic acid with gluconic acid in the presence of sodium hydroxide to produce the derivative (II); (e) recovering said derivatives obtained in steps (c) or (d) by evaporation of the water by atomization. The derivatives (I and II) are used for the treatment of canine leishmaniosis, a zoonosis which severely afflicts the Mediterranean area. <IMAGE>
