MANUFACTURE OF OXIDE SUPERCONDUCTOR

PURPOSE:To manufacture a thallium superconducting wire rod by the silver sheath method (powder-in-tube method). CONSTITUTION:A heat treatment is applied to an oxide. superconductor containing thallium as a constituting element at the temperature in the range of 500-600 deg.C in the reducing atmosphere for one hour or longer before a heat treatment is applied at the temperature of 600 deg.C or above. The bulging of a silver sheath wire rod due to a heat treatment can be prevented.
