CHARACTER RECOGNIZING DEVICE

PURPOSE:To provide the character recognizing device which efficiently obtain combinations of recognition candidate characters whose grammatical meaning is proper with a small number of combinations. CONSTITUTION:A character is inputted from an input means 1 and converted into electronic data and a priority processing means 5 predicts character variation of the inputted character from the writing position of the character in a document on the basis of information which is stored in a storage means 4 and required to determine the priority of a recognition result and determines the priority of the recognition result based upon the extent of the predicted character variation quantity; and a recognizing means 2 recognizes the character on the basis of the priority and outputs the result to an output means 3.
