The rod carrier consists of two supports (10) arranged to carry the two rods (3), projecting outwards from each side of the boat (2). The two supports are fitted so that they are able to pivot around a vertical axis, which is mounted on the centre line of the boat. The two rods are connected by a cables (22a and 22b), which have an elasticated central section (26), and which run from the pivot arm (19) on the pivot plate (9), carrying the rod supports, to the slider (27), which is mounted on the tiller (5). The cables serve to maintain the fishing lines parallel to the rudder (23). USE/ADVANTAGE - It reduces the risk of line entanglement during turning.
