PURPOSE:To obtain a scramble picture with high secrecy suitable for a dropout compensation function such as a VTR in which the correlation of a picture in horizontal, vertical frame directions is not considerably lost. CONSTITUTION:The scrambler is constituted of an in-scanning line signal switching device 160 implementing in-scanning line signal switching depending on a signal switching position designated at every horizontal scanning line, a pseudo random signal generator 150 generating a pseudo random signal series at every horizontal scanning line, a random process generator 210 generating a random signal process latching the signal switching position at a rate when the pseudo random signals are parted minutely respectively in the vertical direction and the frame direction on a screen, and a signal switching position frame memory 200 holding the output of the random process generator 210 by one frame. |
