PURPOSE:To attain high power factor over a wide load current region in a downsized economic power supply having simple circuitry. CONSTITUTION:In a converter circuit where an AC input voltage is rectified and smoothed and then switched ON/OFF through a semiconductor switching element to be applied to the primary winding of a transformer and a high frequency AC voltage induced in the secondary winding is rectified and smoothed to obtain a predetermined voltage, a booster choke coil L1 and a diode D1 are inserted between an input rectifying circuit RC1 and an input smoothing capacitor C1 while a resonance capacitor C3 is connected between the joint of the booster choke coil and the diode and the joint of the switching element Q and the transformer. Furthermore, a compensation inductor L3 is connected in series with the primary winding of the transformer T1. |
