PURPOSE:To simplify an initial setting by sending the content of an initial setting from a remote control transmitter to a video recorder when a CATV decoder is initialized so as to initialize the video recorder together with the remote control transmitter. CONSTITUTION:The device realizing this method is provided with a CATV decoder (cable box) 1, a video tape recorder(VTR) 2 and a remote control transmitter 4. The remote control transmitter 4 is set to originate a remote control signal with a format in matching with a manufacturer of the cable box 1. Then a setting key 10 is operated to allow the transmission circuit of the remote control transmitter 4 to send a setting content to the VTR 2 as a remote control signal. The sent remote control signal is received by the reception circuit of the VTR 2 and received by a control circuit. Thus, the VTR 2 sends the signal in matching with the manufacturer of the cable box 1 similarly to the remote control transmitter 4. |
