PURPOSE: To provide a power supply that is a laser power supply including a circuit for converting standard AC power from a wall outlet into a laser- driving current pulse and that generates a pulsed laser output beam having a laser pulse amplitude and preselected parameters. CONSTITUTION: A power supply comprises a capacitor unit, a charging power supply 64 including a unit for charging the capacitor unit using standard AC power by receiving the standard AC power, a capacitor discharging circuit 74 for discharging the capacitor unit under control to generate a laser input pulse having controlled duration and amplitude, and a unit for adding the laser input pulse to a laser and causing the laser to generate a pulsed laser output beam 3 having controlled power and duration. |
