The building facade facing system, uses thin panels (7) of stone, glass or other suitable material, each of which is held by its edges in a metal frame (71) which is fixed in turn to the exterior wall of the building. EAch metal frame has at least one pair of supporting elements (72,73) on opposite edges, held together by traction rods (76) with nuts (78) on their threaded ends (77) or, in a variant, steel cables. The supporting elements can be in the form of corner brackets, with opposite brackets held together by diagonal traction rods. The metal frames are attached to supports on the building facade or, where appropriate to a window frame, allowing it to be opening with the glass facing panel attached to it. In other cases some of the panels can be attached to moveable frames, operated manually or by a motor, to allow a panel to be moved for ventilation.
