PURPOSE:To speedily detect an idle channel without using any high-sensitivity receiver by contrary imparting interference from another station with high power for a certain station, which imparts interference by using a provisional idle channel, with high power. CONSTITUTION:The station to detect the idle channel intercepts all the channels 1-4 at a detectable signal level, detects a channel 5 judged as an idle channel and transmits a signal 6 with power higher than normal power by using that channel. When the signal 6 is received as an interfering wave by the other station, the receiving station transmits the signal for a certain period of time with power higher than normal power. Since the station under retrieving the idle channel detects the interfering wave at the channel to be received by the own station at this time, it can be judged the channel is not idle, and the channel not to generate mutual interference can be detected by detecting the idle channel in this state. Thus, the idle channel can be speedily detected without using any high-sensitivity receiver.
