PURPOSE:To ensure absence transfer at the time of emergency by previously registering the transfer destination of a multi-function telephone set, detecting the off-hooking of a cordless slave unit and automatically transferring it to the cordless telephone set. CONSTITUTION:When the slave unit 5 of the cordless telephone set 10 composed of a master unit 4 and the cordless slave unit 5 is detected to be off-hooked by an off-hooking detection means 30, it informs the multi-function telephone set 3 and the master unit 4 of it. The telephone set 3 and the master unit 4 informs PBX 1 of the off-hooking signal. When PBX 1 receives the off-hooking signal, it refers to an absence transfer information table 20 where the transfer destination of the telephone set 3 is previously registered, retrieves the telephone number of a transfer destination, transfers an incoming call and makes the master unit 4 call the slave unit 5. At the time of usual presence, a response is made by the telephone set 3. At the time of absence, the response can be made by the telephone set 10. Thus, absence transfer at the time of emergency can securely be executed.
