PURPOSE:To obtain an optical recording medium excellent in durability and having satisfactory reliability over a long period of time by incorporating a compd. having a C-F bond and a metal into the reflecting layer of an optical recording medium with a recording layer besides the reflecting layer. CONSTITUTION:A recording layer 2 is formed on a polycarbonate substrate 1 by spin coating with an org. cyanine dyestuff reflecting layer 3 having 150nm thickness is formed on the recording layer 2 by sputtering and a protective layer 4 having about 8mum thickness is further formed on the reflecting layer 3 by spin coating with a UV-curing resin. Since the reflecting layer 3 is formed by sputtering with a 99.99% Ag target in a gaseous mixture of gaseous Ar having 100 sccm flow rate with gaseous CF4 having 1.0 sccm flow rate, the reflecting layer 3 contains at least a compd. having a C-F bond and a metal. This metal is preferably a microcrystalline or amorphous alloy. |
