PURPOSE:To provide an image forming device quick to respond to a change in environment and capable of always outputting a stable high-grade image. CONSTITUTION:First, second and third surface potential sensors 9, 91 and 92 are installed in positions just after an image exposure, development and exposure irradiation by a preexposing lamp 4, respectively, to measure a surface potential Vi on a photosensitive drum 1 just after a latent image is formed, a surface potential Vx on the photosensitive drum 1 just after toner development and a surface potential Vt on a toner layer just after the photosensitive drum 1 holding a toner image is sufficiently exposed/irradiated by the preexposing lamp 4, respectively. Then, a developing quantity M/S per a unit area of toner developed on the photosensitive drum 1 and a toner charge amount Q/M per unit weight are calculated from a potential Vx-Vi fluctuating due to the charge of the toner by the toner development and the measurement value of the surface potential Vt of the toner layer after the exposure irradiation and predicted to control a development contrast, transfer conditions, etc. |
