PURPOSE:To provide an optical circuit which can prevent influence of a light emitted in a functional element furnished in a waveguide path. CONSTITUTION:An optical circuit is equipped with a base board 1, a waveguide path 2 provided on the board 1, and a functional element 3 which is formed in a specified region of the waveguide path 2 and works through utilization of the change in the refractive index caused by the inrush of a current, wherein the characteristic is such that at least part of the region other than where the functional element 3 is formed is made from a material having a band gap wavelength which is longer than the wavelength of the light emitted by the inrush of the current. |
