PURPOSE:To easily control the switching of the phase exciting system of a stepping motor by only designating a specific phase exciting system against a switching circuit. CONSTITUTION:This driving device is provided with a plurality of kinds of phase exciting signal generation circuits 14a-14k which generate phase exciting signals X, Y, and Z following different phase exciting systems. When an arbitrary phase exciting system is designated to a switching circuit 16 through one of latch circuits 15a-15k, the circuit 16 selects the designated specific phase exciting signal X, Y, or Z from the signals X, Y, and Z of the circuits 14a-14k and supplies the signal to a drive circuit 17. The circuit 17 supplies exciting power to each winding of a stepping motor 9 based on the specific signal X, Y, or Z. Therefore, the switching of the phase exciting system of the motor 9 can be easily controlled and, at the same time, the excitation of the motor 9 can be controlled with high accuracy at a high speed. |
