The baffle device is used for turning workpieces (7) moving along a vibratory conveyor. The conveyor may consist of a shelf (4) winding in a shallow ascending spiral round the inside of the wall (5) of a vertical cylinder. The shelf may slope gently toward the wall of the cylinder to keep the workpieces from falling off the edge. The baffle consists of an arm extending from the wall with a cylindrical portion (6) extending downwards to engage the rectangular parts (8) of the workpieces. The cylindrical portion stops short of projections (9a,b) at the ends of the workpieces. It engages each workpiece end closer to the wall than the centre of gravity of the workpiece.
