Ultra precise liquid dispensing process for use in fixing microelectronic and opto-electronic components - using gas pressure to introduce or deliver small quantities of liquid such as adhesive

The process involves holding a liquid product (6) such as an adhesive in a storage container (5) from which the product may be ejected in closely controlled amounts under gas pressure. A suitable source of gas (10) is connected to the liquid container (5) through pipework (11) and a control valve. The flow of gas is detected and controlled to dispense the quantity of liquid (6) required. The gas flow may be reversed in order to draw additional liquid (6) into the container (5) from a source of liquid. USE/ADVANTAGE - Precise control of delivery of very small quantities of liquid product such as adhesives, and chemicals for use in electronics industry.
