METHOD FOR ONLINE RESTORATION OF REDUNDANT INFORMATION OF REDUNDANCY ARRAY SYSTEM

PURPOSE: To provide a method for restoring correct data to a storage device after a write fault generated by a temporary storage device fault in a redundant array storage device. CONSTITUTION: A correct redundant block is generated for a corresponding data block on the entire storage devices. By re-issuing an interrupted write operation, an old data block is 'subtracted' from a re-calculated redundant block. An undestructed new data block is written on the old data block and 'added' to the re-calculated redundant block and a new corrected redundant block is prepared. The new corrected redundant block is written in an appropriate storage device.
