<p>An additive for lubricating oils comprises a mixture of 5-95 wt. per cent of at least one tri-(chloropropyl) phosphite having at least one chlorine atom in the 2-position and 95-5% wt. per cent of a chlorinated alkyl benzene in which the alkyl side-chain has 5-15 carbon atoms and contains 5-50 wt. per cent of chlorine. In examples, various mixtures of tri-(2-chloropropyl) phosphite with chlorinated dodecyl benzenes of varying chlorine content are added to SAE 20 and SAE 90 mineral oils.</p> |
