PURPOSE:To enhance output characteristics by selecting the mounting position of a friction board being mounted at the outer periphery on the top face of a stator head in an ultrasonic motor. CONSTITUTION:The ultrasonic motor comprises a stator 20 and a rotor 30 press contacting the stator 20 at one end thereof and rotating together therewith wherein the stator 20 comprises piezoelectric elements 70, 90 for longitudinal and torsional oscillations and a plurality of holding members 60, 80, 100 fastened in the axial direction of a holding shaft 40. One holding member is a stator head 60 and no friction plate 110 is mounted at the outer periphery on the top face of the stator head 60 corresponding with a recess 62 made in the outer peripheral surface of the stator head 60. |
